North East Regional Employment Team - Mental Health & Employment

Terms of Reference

The Regional Employment Team (RET) will, by preparing, supporting and monitoring the implementation of the Regional Statement of Priorities (SOP), support people with mental health problems in order to help them move towards, gain and retain employment.

The group will include representatives from the Public, Private and Third sectors.

Purpose

The Group is to influence, develop and monitor achievement of the SOP to improve the routes towards employment for people with mental health problems.

This will be delivered through a Regional Action Plan and other products to be developed, based on the SOP.

The Group will exist to undertake the task of commissioning the strategy and monitoring, reviewing and directing the implementation of the action plan by partners in the region disseminating the findings and identified good practice. Consulting with service users in all areas impacted and influencing other stakeholders initiatives and plans

The Group will report progress against the action plan and SOP directly to the Regional Employability Framework, key regional strategic groups and national structures.

The National Social Inclusion Programme shall have a presence at the meetings.

The group will meet every two months and will be chaired by PHNE Health & Employment Lead

The Regional Employment Lead Mental Health will provide the secretariat function.

These Terms of Reference will be reviewed at least annually by the group.
