Norcare is a North East charity that has been helping some of the region’s most vulnerable people since 1984.
Working with and supporting people aged 16 and over who are homeless and socially or economically excluded, we help them find the right kind of home, address any issues they may be facing, and develop the confidence and skills they need to lead happy independent lives.
The people we help are at the heart of what we do. We understand that what works for one person might not work for another, which is why we develop a personalised package of support with every client to give them the specific help they need.
The range of services we offer, coupled with our experienced yet sensitive approach makes Norcare a better place to be for everyone.
At Norcare we do our utmost to support our clients in every way we can, helping them confront and resolve any issues and gain the skills and confidence they need to move on with their lives.
Every client who comes to Norcare is made The Norcare Promise. This is the name given to the comprehensive package of support that we offer our clients. They can pick and choose the services they want to access and we work with them to develop a personalised support programme to match their needs and aspirations.
Recognising that a safe and stable home can form the bedrock of a happy life, our primary focus is on finding the right kind of housing for our clients. We offer a range of supported accommodation as well as helping clients secure independent tenancies.
However it is not enough to provide a roof over someone’s head.
This is why, over time, Norcare has come to offer so much more than just housing support, helping our clients with everything from learning to cook a healthy meal, to getting the right training to improve their employment prospects.
